Fragrant nose of rose petals, cloves, complex. Fine palate, not too tannic, elegant. Rabaja rarely let me down.

Young and tannic still, needed a long decant. Deep and brooding with complex, clay, earthy aromas. Will need a few more years to be ready. 93-94

Lovely aromatics of apple cider, lemon, oak. Comfortably sweet but not too much. Could have a bit more tension and engergy.

Very much "on message" for a northern Rhone Syrah with smoke, black pepper and dark fruit aromas. Chewy tannins of good quality.

Dinner in Reims. Discrete nose at first, then opening up with bruised apples and spices, lime. The oxidation is gentle, not intrusive. Dense palate, dry, feeling brut nature almost. Definitely a food chamapagne. Can keep further. 94-95

Dinner in Reims. Fantastic as always, This has so much aroma and chalkyness on the palate, you can see that they picked top quality grapes here. The nose has yellow and red fruit, spice box, red flowers. The palate very good density and a wonderful low dosage feeling.

Domaine visit. Disgorged à la volée for the lunch. What a generous gesture from the house as this is a four digit bottle by now. Showed fresh and absolutely spectacular, combining champignon notes with lemon and yellow fruit, also some nutmeg, forest floor. Perlage only petillant making this like a sublime, old Montrachet. Wonderful experience

Domaine visit. Discrete nose, needed some swhirling. Raspberry notes intertwined with lemon and spices. Light on the palate with lovely dry extract on the finish. Solid, but not the last word on complexity.

Domaine Visit. Edition 6 MAG. Like the Inattendu this was a very good BdB. Loved the citrus nose with brioche. Fresh and saüpy. They did not go overboard with the dosage.

Discrete nose, opens up with swirling. Wonderful aromas of smoke, beef blood, herbs, black pepper. Ripe dark fruit on then palate entry but with tons of acidity and great structure. They really managed the ripe vintage very well. Not a sign of heat or overripeness. Top wine A to Z.

Nose of ripe lemon, orange rind, yellow fruit. Ripe on the palate, generous but with bright acidity. Sweetish on the palate due to the ripeness but not oily.

Expressive nose with coconut, vanilla dominating, needs some integration. Lush palate, polished tannins, almost a bit too slick but good acidity with red fruit, a touch farmyard funk to finish elegant and Burgundian. Very popular at the table tonight both with Pinot nuts and novices.

Parker 100 Pointer Lunch, tasted blind: Tasted blind. This showed exceptionally well. We were all at least 10 years off in age. So much freshness and structure here combined with a kaledoscope of tertiary Burg aromas around sour cherry, autumn leaves, cured meat, dried flowers. Wonderful 96+

Parker 100 Pointer Lunch, tasted blind: Tasted blind, snuck into a bordeaux flight and did well. I guessed Napa from the 90ies as it combined ripe fruit, eucalyptus notes with good structure and freshness. It shows that before the 2000era both in Napa and Australia the Cabernets were more made in a Bordeauesque style with suits this region well. Ripe fruit is never a problem here, but keeping freshness and structure. This wine did that well.

Parker 100 Pointer Lunch, tasted blind: Opened this as a palate cleanser after all the 100 pointers. It did not only that job well, but was a great wine. Flinty nose with lemon curd, generous palate, tart enough finish. Not as good as the Paul Pillot rendition but very nice and very good QPR.

Parker 100 Pointer Lunch, tasted blind: During a tasting. Expressive nose of dark fruit with some smoke and forest elements. It was late in the line up so my palate wasn't the freshest anymore. Structured and young. I would give this a few more years.

Parker 100 Pointer Lunch, tasted blind: Rich and ripe, fruity, lots of oak and vanilla, clay, torrefaction, dark fruit. We were tossing between Nebbiolo and Sagiovese, but whatever, it was Italian we said and the quality is good and the balance works despite it being a modern interpretation of Sangiovese.

Parker 100 Pointer Lunch, tasted blind: Guessing Napa here. Dark fruit, licorice, Christmas spice, gingerbread. Lots of coconut, oak, vanilla. The palate is generous and polished, no oxidative, overripe tones, so they managed the picking moment well, 14.8% Alc. 94-95

Parker 100 Pointer Lunch, tasted blind: Nose of rum pot, plum, raspberry, cinnamon spice, cherry, lovely tannins, relatively light, 20 years old was my guess but it was much younger. High tannins on the finish, rose and black tea, Lots of wood but well integrated. This reminds me of Comando G. A top Grenache, how they should be, extracted with a light hand.

Parker 100 Pointer Lunch, tasted blind: Best showing of this so far. I too k my friends advice and slow oxed for 12 hours and then decanted it for 1h. Still very young feeling both on nose and palate. Cool blue fruit with lots of aroma, dark berries, forest floor, restraint, aristocratic tannins, precise acidity. Very grand. Best after 2028. Upside from here. 98-100

Parker 100 Pointer Lunch, tasted blind: Sunny nose with torrefaction dominating the first whiff, then blue fruit, oak. The palate has lots of structure and enough freshness to support the body. Not overripe but quite extracted and not overly aromatic. I would lay this down till 2030. It could come around. The Chateau Latour 2003 which we tasted next to it was showing more aroma and balance, but it also needed a 12h slow ox plus a 1h decant to get there. So no hurry with this 2009

Parker 100 Pointer Lunch, tasted blind: Tasted blind. Lots of cocoa on the palate, and an attractive, soft palate. so I was guessing an elegant rendition of a Rioja, like the Alta 904 for example. It was nice to drink, not overly complex though.
