April 20, 2024 - Been 3-4 years since I had one of these to drink/review. This has always been one of my fav Cali Zin makers. The OLD VINES that Matt Cline is able to access for his wines, are just stupendous. Sorry to see that many of them are falling by the wayside as time passes.....

As always, this vineyard shines. Beautiful Zin fruit nose with red florals. Deep, clean ruby in the glass. Dark Zin fruit, matching acidity and tannins on the palate. Great weight in the mouth for a Zin and wonderful spice/pepper component without being over the top as so many cheap versions of Cali Zin can be. In fact, it might could be even stronger. I'm guessing that at 6 years of age now, this has probably backed off a bit from what it once was? Going to enjoy my other 5 bottles sooner rather than later.......
