Friday, August 25, 2023 - Now we’re talking. Decanted for 90 minutes. Drank next to a 2015 Outpost Howell Mountain Cab. These two wines were polar opposites. This wine is a classic, black fruit St Emilion. No ripeness, no Sweetness & just the way I like it.
Lots of great flavor layers and extraction. Long lingering finish. This wine is far superior to many 2015 Vintage StE. Great depth of flavor with classic tar, chocolate, barnyard & earthy notes. The 15 Beasejour Becot get high scores but this wine is much better. It’s also better than 15 Villamaurine, Bellefont Belcier, Faugeres, Clos de L’Oratoire & Monbousquet.

8/26/2023 6:45:00 AM - I’ve loaded up on 15 & 16 St Emilion wines. They are fine for me. They are not over ripe by my standards and believe me, I do not like sweet fruit bombs. If you think these are over ripe try Caymus, Outpost, Quivet, Myriad & Realm CA Cabs.

8/31/2023 1:14:00 PM - Yes....all those wines posted or a complete travesty to one's palate. Good to hear about the 15th maybe I need to try a couple more but I wasn't too happy about what I had tried... 16 is a lovely vintage as is 19 too from when I tried

8/31/2023 3:06:00 PM - Robertgoulet Try more 2015 StE…They are wonderful and accessible now. For the most part I haven’t had ANY over ripe or fruit bombs. None. 2016’s of course will be amazing but I think the 15’s are equally great. Will be interesting to drink 15’s ‘ 16’s side by side in a few years. I think it will be hard to tell them apart. IMO
