Friday, September 8, 2023 - When first opened, very rich, but heavily jammed up with a semi-harsh finish. After an 18 hour decant became a beautiful massive Zin from Sonoma, built like a top of the line Bedrock or right under the Jackass (not Jackass Hill) vineyard at Martinelli. Had all the fruit qualities you would expect, great mid and upper palate. Nose leaps out of the decanter/glass with great florals and sucrosity. Long chocolate /licorice/fruit finish with a slight note of a port like richness. if you can find, quite the value. The 15.6% is needed to support the structure and fruit in the wine. This wine is just hitting its prime drinking period and should easily be in that mold for the next 8-12 years before fading. Has not thrown, surprisingly, any sediment as of yet.
