Friday, March 29, 2024 - PnP at restaurant from home cellar. For fans of crisp, steely chardonnay, this ain't your bottle. Oily, full-bodied, and complex, this is not a poolside sipper, IMO. Think more slippers, pipe and robe. Notes of caramel and buttered popcorn, with a long finish. We had this with shrimp al ajillo and I don't think it was a great pairing, not enough noticeable acidity, but it would be great with a more traditional "red wine" food, or by itself. Also, it tasted better when most of the chill was gone from some time in the wine glass, rather than straight out of the ice bucket.
