Friday, April 26, 2024 - The clean cork was easily extracted. The color alone made us very optimistic: medium red, largely opaque, and very little bricking on the rims. There was a lot of must on the nose, which mostly blew off, as did the barnyard aromatics, though some brett was still present on the palate. Nonetheless an inspirational bottle with lots to offer. The wine featured muted red currant notes, some leather, gravel and cigar ash, with ample acid. Quite a treat at age 54.
