Decanter FWE, London. Fresh uplifting nose with herbs, nettles and a more prominent cassis aroma. This warm vintage shows a round, expressive and ripe fruit feel. Lots of blackcurrant and some mushrooms. Silky tannin. Drinks well now but I would hold to see where it goes. Happy to have been able to source a couple of bottles on the secondary market!

We sipped during The Ladies of May birthday party (3 gals from 3 different decades sipping 'n snacking together). A Chile "Bordeaux" blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Dark red, great aromas, still going strong, big yet classy. It must be the Carmenere! Excellent.

Cork broke on opening. Dark garnet color. Slightly funky nose at opening....dissipated after 20 minutes or so. Leather and old books plus nice spice on the nose. Not a lot of fruit. Some dried currant and pomegranate. Long finish. Quite enjoyable. Not sure will improve from here (actually likely past its best). Advise drinking now if you have some.

I was worried this hadnt been properly stored before it was given to me. A little rough when first opened but ended up pretty good.

Becoming like a classic Bordeaux. Earthy nose. Inky and a groom with dense black fruits. Got better in the decanter.
