Tasted over 2 hrs -med dark red mild clearing -pretty bright red fruit faint smoky herbal -med acidity, med/med- weight silky bright red fruit just starting to pick up some maturity, diffuse med tannins -quite sappy and substantial for the vintage, lovely, excellent now on mature plateau

At first quite a bit of the green meanies and cranberry. A bit out of kilter and worrisome, but since it was being poured after a flawed bottle of Bachelet, being thankfully too lazy to walk down for a third bottle, I gave it the benefit of doubt. I'm glad I did. Over a couple hours in the decanter, the greenness remains noticeable, but becomes more civilized and integrates, becoming like jerhardt's TN description of heavy stems more than green meanies. This has lovely texture, soft red fruits, and nice balance with good depth and a stemmy softness. There's good palate presence with a sense of lightness and grace in a very Chambolle and Bertheau mode. Finishes with lovely red fruits, some cooling basil like notes and subtle spice that make up for a lot of the greenness. Good length. Very pretty and drinking well. 91

Open up with sour cherry consistent on the palate. Chinese herbs seem to get more prominent over the next day. Don’t think it will get better with age.

Yes, it is a 2011, but it is wonderful. A truly mature, somewhat lush, elegant and feminine delivery in the refined hands of Berthau. A red veering a tiny bit toward tawny, with a mildly muted nose with hints of dry cherry, ash and wood. A very refined Chambolle profile on the palate, with dark cherry, light moist soil, and some airy sense of leaves, but no green or bitter notes. A 2011 is not a 2010 or 2012, of course, so while the complexity was nice but not spectacular, and the finish a tiny bit short, it was a delight

Medium + garnet with tawny notes. I found this interesting others did not. Ashy, stemmy green notes mixed with a dense red fruit core, coffee been and some typical Chambolle spices. Great mouthfeel, a little short on the finish.
