  • Decanted 1.5 hrs. Continues to drink very well with highly extracted fruit, well balanced with notes of spice and long finish. Paid with game meat meatloaf.

  • Stood the bottle upright for several days, then decanted for a bit over two hours, with some sediment. Everything about this wine is dark! The color was a dark purple to a slightly faded rim. The nose was heavy with dark fruits. The full-bodied palate showed blackberry, blueberry, black currant, cassis, cinnamon, earth and just a touch of pepper and prune. The acidity was fresh enough to balance the wine and there was a touch of tannins on the finish, but the 15.6% abv was not noticeable. This wine should remain quite enjoyable for some time to come, but it must be aired out sufficiently to present at its best.

  • Decanted one hour before service. In the glass, the faintest hint of auburn at the rim, the only sign of age, otherwise sporting a purple-saturated maroon throughout. On the nose, crushed raspberries, violets, ocean water, and a touch of mint. On the palate, a semi-sweet core of dark berries, with pepper, floral elements, and an iron/blood note that creeps in on the mid-palate and takes over on the long finish. There are still enough tannins present to argue for more cellar time, but if you have a few bottles, now is a good time to check in.

  • Really enjoyed at the rehersal dinner with W Miller III.

  • Not a broad style Syrah at this point, but so much packed into its focused frame. Black cherry, bright strawberry with a core of smoked meat and espresso. A strong line of acidity and black pepper drives everything forward.
