Overall, a very pleasing Amarone with lots of flavors, good structure, and no hint of the 16.5% abv. Decanted at the beginning of our meal to separate significant sediment. The color was a dark violet to a faded rim. The nose was all raisins and dark red fruits. The medium plus bodied palate showed the raisins, some spice, some earth and a variety of fruits - mostly cherry with some strawberry and raspberry - then some brown licorice on the finish. The acidity was juicy and balancing and there was just a touch of drying tannin. I would think that this wine could continue to hold for several more years but is in an excellent place right now.

Velvety mouthfeel, deeply extracted yet delicate presentation despite the ABV, delicious flavors throughout all stages of the palate, with patience rewarded. As with all tastings, a subjective assessment.

Pleased to be trying this again after 9 years! Mostly Corvina, w/ some Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina. Decanted. Med+ ruby/garnet. Clean, med+ ripe red cherries, dried plums, dried figs, mushroom, forest floor, caramel, milk chocolate & sweet baking spices from 3 yrs aging in large oak casks. Dry, but w/ generous fruit. Med acidity, med, resolved tannins, & high but well-masked alcohol (16.5% abv). Full bodied, w/ med+ intensity & length. All the components are well-integrated; it is fully in its drinking window but has a few more years to go. Pairs beautifully with aged Veneto cheeses and gorgonzola dolce, garnished with quince paste and fig compote.
