93, pushing 94. Popped cork, let bottle sit open for 3 hours and poured a glass then recorked. Earthy dark fruit aroma with a touch of cigar box and spices, light alcohol on the nose. Medium body and intensity in the mouth, I like the low 13.5 ABV, letting the forest floor, mushroom, dark earth come through. Medium acidity and tannin on day-1; tanniphobes need not worry. Very pleasing longish earthy finish. Reopened and finished on day-2 and it was even better; the acidity and tannin diminished just a bit in symmetry with the medium intensity yet very pleasing flavor profile. Wonderful with braised lamb shank. Ready to go, give it lots of air first. Reminds me of (understandably) a focused Clos de l'Oratoire.
Wow. Within minutes of opening, this was truly special. Dark berries, cigar, and floral notes. On the palate, this was pure silk and absolutely impeccable. So much going on. On the lighter, elegant side of full bodied. Paired with our cheeses and sausage, then with mixed grill.
This is good to go. In fact, I think it lost a couple of steps near the end of the meal. Drink now with minimal decanting for the best of everything that a St Emilion premier grande cru classe has to offer.

I'm not drinking any F'ing Merlot ........ (Chateau Glenn): Menthol clove, dark cherry, blackberry and minerals on the nose. Farily silky finish on the palate with some tannins peeking through. I picked this as m wine double blind and most of the rest of the group called this out as old world. My 4 of 6, the groups 5 of 6 (5 picked this 4th and 1 picked this as last).

I thought this was quite closed - even the next day - and needs more time - has a great future but leave for at least a couple of years
