The bouquet is soft and gentle even as it suggests grilled meats and, yes, beef stock with red fruit behind. Good balance in the mouth with just a bit of extra acidity to make it seem cleaner and lighter than a Cote Rotie. A few hours of decanting went a long way. If you're looking for a super intense CR, you won't find it here. This is lighter, delicate, and still shows typicity.

Fourth bottle from a half case purchased from the Dutch importer in 2015. Very similar to the previous bottle, perhaps just a little bit fresher, with less beef stock evolution and more tannic grip. As good as it ever will be.

A cool and slender style, in keeping with the vintage, the red fruit and black pepper now accompanied by lovely tertiary evolution (beef stock). Loses focus, fragrance and charm on the second day - drink soonish.

This is really good. The color is dark red and besides an absence of the classic purple nuance, this wine really does not show any sign of age. The nose clearly has these classic well-aged syrah-notes of rust, beefblood, salty black olives, smoke and dried beef jerkey. Still, pleanty of primary fruit. The taste is smooth, delicate and very complex. The tannins has soften up and gives the wine a velvety structure while the graphite bringss a rusty mouthfeel of pulverized stone-gravel - WOW!!!
