  • Like Chardonnay through a vintage View-Master. Hirsch giving me old school Cali vibes with an honest nod to Burgundy.

Despite the decade, high acid and oak seasoning in pastry like measurements. Opens up just barely into the tropicals - banana and mango - as little sprinkled hints in hazy rays of sepia sun and a Polaroid filter.

  • Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined and refrigerated), note from day 2. Appearance: Clear, medium gold. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with aromas of lemon, green apple, licorice, saline and toast. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium+ intensity, medium body with a slightly creamy mouth-feel, 13.5% abv with flavors of Meyer lemon, pear, saline, and licorice with a medium+ finish.

Overall an excellent-outstanding wine showing exceptional balance and complexity. This bottle is showing pronounced intensity through the mid-palate which dips somewhat through the back-end but lingers nicely on the palate. It's showing quite youthful for a 10 year old Cali Chardonnay. Drinking well upon opening but still has many years of good drinking.

  • Last bottle and absolutely spectacular. Piercing intensity, but expansive in flavour and length. Ripe stone fruits, orange blossom, lemon curd, and subtle minerality. The legnth is just incredible and everything is in balance with a luscious richess that ends with just enough lift on the back palate.

  • Hitting its stride. Crisp, complex, fresh and long.

  • Marvellous as ever. There is still real energy and intensity to the fruits, but a growing nuttiness is starting to develop amidst the citrus and stone fruit mid-palate. Creamy and volumptuous, but with real texture and an acid ping that sustains it all. A truly complete wine that is perfect with lobster.
