Perhaps the world's longest cork for an affordable wine?? That was about the only accolade I can offer. Decanted for 2 hours and still full of Brett and volatile acidity. Unfortunately, this bottle is defective and I doubt it's the only one. Not a problem for natural wine drinkers who are used to the funky, volatile elements but despite the long decant and large glasses and pairing with beef the volatility just didn't dissipate. God bless Jacky Blot but he didn't build his great legacy on this faulty style...

Glass 1: Aromas of black cherry, leather, sous bois, with hints of green pepper on the nose. Tastes of cherry and a dusty barnyard funk on the palate.
Glass 2: Aromas of cherry, cassis, green pepper, and violets near the very end. Tastes of cherry, sous bois, and green pepper on the palate
Medium(+) in body with juicy acidity that made me salivate and want another sip. Medium(+) tannins that were integrated. This was an amzing Cab Franc! Complex, evolving, and balanced.

This is an intense, concentrated Bourgueil, superb on the nose with the characteristic Cabernet Franc fruit and violets. On the palate it is still quite austere, with a highish acidity and some unresolved tannins, but there's plenty of underlying fruit and the aftertaste is long and complex. I think it needs a few more years.

Followed on from the Mi-Pente 17, and really they're very similar - funk, cedar and blackberries.
