  • Had a bottle of this 3 years ago...wow what a difference 3 years makes. First bottle was forgettable...this bottle was outstanding. Drinking great right now!

  • Reiterate my TN in all ways from 6/20; in fact, what’s remarkable, with the variability, both up and down, with wines I’ve been revisiting lately, is not only how similar this was qualitatively and quantitatively from that bottle, but how constant it stayed over the 4 nights it was open. This well-crafted, enjoyable bottle poses the question, when does a well-balanced, subtle wine become a muted, insufficiently expressive one? (I note that this is often my question, writ large, about BDX, although rarely with Tuscany.). This wine worked well on its own and with burritos but wasn’t really noteworthy in either instance. Not quite the equal of the fairly recent Lupicaia or Solengo, but a somewhat similar experience (I do note, considerably cheaper, especially at what I paid for it.). A very solid weekday wine in the low $30s and potential rebuy, at full boat retail in the mid to upper $50s it’s more marginal. I also reiterate that while this wine appears in no danger of fading, it’s not clear that there’s another gear here, so holding further doesn’t appear particularly advantageous. A bit disappointing in that I like the ‘11 bottling of this decently more, even with opposite feelings about the respective vintages. 91-92 if scoring.

  • Wow this is in a great place today. Leather, tobacco, blackberry and spice are interwoven beautifully with just and perfect amount of tannin and acid to keep it fresh, sip after sip. Yum!

  • Took 30+ minutes to open up and add floral notes and elegance.
Rose petal, dried fruit, stone, spice.
Fruit and tannins are intregrated - this is in a great spot now.
