Bright red fruit, with subtle nuances, also some dark fruit. Medium to full bodied, both strength and sophistication, balanced with tasty tannins still lingering. Long finish. Wonderful wine.

Tasted over two days, no initial aeration but allowing the wine to develop in the glass over a couple hours.
Medium ruby almost skewing purple in the glass with slight fading along the rim. On the nose strong fruit aroma of plums (my wife said pluots) and dark cherry and notes of spices (I went with allspice). On the palate the wine is full bodied, smooth and velvety with slightly stewed fruit, medium acidity, low tannin and the slightest alcohol warmth on the finish.
Drinking this wine is just pure pleasure. There is a lot of fruit to be sure but it is wonderful pure fruit and not jammy or out of balance right now. It’s truly a delicious wine and my favorite offering / vintage of Hansel I’ve tried. While I’ve enjoyed all the pinot offerings they can feel a little too rich or over the top at times and I don’t get that here. On day two the fruit was sweeter and the acid lessened so I’m not sure how much longer the wine will continue to drink well but I have a few more bottles and I’m determined to find out!
