Most excellent grower Brut Naturale. Green apple nose with brioche and some lemon curd and stones emerging one the palate with good acidity. Wish I had more!

Gilman and Galloni both gave high scores to this Champagne, so it was worth a try, despite the Community (i.e., non-professionals) scoring being substantially lower. On the palate this displays sizable depth and precision, real chalkiness with a notable apple flavor character. Not much vigor in the bubbles, and quite austere, to the point of making this not so interesting… too subtle a Champagne. Maybe it should be ages longer to see what happens with sufficient (?) time.

Georges Laval is a highly regarded grower Champagne house in Cumieres, and Les Chenes is a lovely vineyard yielding ripe Chardonnay. Frustratingly, most of us end up drinking grower champagnes too young as small producers release their champagnes soon after bottling mostly due to cash flow reasons. Firmly structured Blanc de Blancs with ripe lemons, red apples, Sharp acidity, ripe Chardonnay fruits. Needs a lot of cellaring! (88?/100)

Austere, lean, steely, lemony, and completely dry. Unappealing at present, particularly when served on the cold side as it was. This may never have the right balance or that bit of flesh that a zero dosage wine needs.
