Three hour slow ox. Deep dark purplish, slightly hazy magenta color. Orange meringue, nutmeg, black cherry, and tea. Dry, satiny palate, with tongue coating acidity. Plush tannins on the longish finish.
HMC was kind enough to share this at a recent gathering at Mark1NPT’s place. It was an auction site purchase and I suspect it wasn’t stored properly before he took possession. Very fun to try nonetheless. Fortunately, his other bottle was in much better shape. Unfortunately, I never got to try that one. ;)

Brought to tonight's event by HMC and I don't remember the airtime but he remarked that this bottle was different and we poured it into a decanter. Enjoyed by all through and after dinner. I'd say it probably had a good 6 hours of air in the decanter til finished.
Dark magenta/purple in the glass. Solid Napa cab nose that was a bit muted initially but opened over time. The palate reveals dark berries, some graphite and chocolate and generally seems to be very well balanced and integrating nicely. I thought it was pretty good but HMC said it was very different than his last bottle maybe a week ago? Thanks for bringing Jimbo!

1 hour decant. Then drank over 2 hours. Ripe and ready right out the gate. Big, balanced classic cab in every way. Luscious mouth feel. Delicious cassis and blackberry fruit. Well integrated round in the mouth tannins. Decent finish. Probably the second-best wine I've had this year. 97+ and peaking. HMC
