  • this is really singing now! No notes taken but the awkwardness of youth was gone and there is even a touch of honeyed citrus developing. Re-buy if possible. Too bad that these are getting more and more expensive...

  • While the nose has certainly evolved since my last tasting, I felt like the palate was still quite similar. I really should have waited awhile longer to do a second tasting but I had such fond memories of this wine that I wanted to try it again. Oh well, it is delicious and thoroughly enjoyable in its present state either way! Drink or hold.

  • Clear, medium lemon colour. Clean, med+ intense aromas of lemon zest, chalk, volcanic rock, wet stones, granny smith, smoke, blossom, melon, thai basil, green herbs, more lemon. Youthful aromas.
Dry, high acidity, med÷ bodied and medium alcohol. Pronounced flavours of lemon, chalk, rock, granny smith, basil... this is just so crisp and mineral! Long finish! Holy F, this is a lean and crisp wine that just keeps on giving. This is for the long run, but this is already good. Drink or hold!

  • Pale yellow. On the nose there is plenty of bright citrus and candied lime. Initially there is a touch of petrol, but this actually recedes with air and certainly doesn't detract. Lovely, crystalline balance in the mouth, melding racy acidity with a well judged level of sweetness. Really intense but balanced Riesling. Enjoyable now, but I feel sure this can improve for quite some time and should live (subject to the cork) for quite awhile indeed. 93 pts.
