Sour green plums and gooseberry fruit, rounded out with a bit of richness from the oak. The acidity is borderline too much on its own, but food brings it into balance.

Agree with other recent reviewers that this isn’t in the same class as past vintages. Torn between returning the other bottles I have or seeing if they add weight or complexity with more time. This used to be a great value wine, with a fuller, plush texture and more oak. The 2018 vintage is thinner, with a tinny quality, some tropical fruits and a short finish. No complexity in the aftertaste.

Upfront white grapefruit and passion fruit flavours dominated. Savoury at first but with a little sweetness on the finish. Perhaps a little too flamboyant, the expressive fruit characters came at the expense of a steely core. By no means a poor wine, but not in the same league as the 2016 or 2019 vintages. CHP 89 pts

Less convincing than the last bottles, but still a very solid wine. 89.
