OK, wow, Finger Lakes. I had no idea. Bought this bc I am visiting this area in a couple weeks (college tour) and was curious about the region. This is really very nice with lovely pear and apple (almost an overlap of Rhine and Mosel flavor profiles), nice glycerin, and a touch of residual sugar (kabinett level, not spatlese). Could use more acid but still very refreshing and cleanly made. Spot on with sole petrale w brown butter, mushrooms, etc. I was really impressed and may just have to seek these out in the future! It has been a long time since I have had a domestic (W Coast) riesling, but this seems to be much better, restrained, and true to form.

although it was the proper grape for Riesling, I felt there was flavor and structure lacking. Just okay but worthy of having.

Rich Riesling with less acidity. Hints of citrus on the nose. Not very fruit-driven, peach and apricot. Finish and aftertaste dominated by butter.

A decent effort for a very challenging vintage in the Fingerlakes.
