  Complex and lifted floral, dusty, wet concrete nose. The bouquet reminds me somewhat of a Lombardia Nebbiolo. Lighter in weight than most Nebs, it finishes with some sparks and sappiness at the same time. The acid makes it sting just a bit. Really good.

  90 min decant. Dark cherries, violet, some eucalyptus. Tar, and a sticky red berry sauce. Acid cuts through nicely and tannins quite fine. Long finish. Dark and brooding for a nebb, but well balanced.

  Clear garnet
  Violet and red cherry aromas
  Starkly tannic and acidic, but lowish alcohol (13.5)
  I’d certainly give this more time and consider a vigorous decant

  Return to Willamette; 7/2/2023-7/8/2023 (Portland & Willamette): Interested to try the wine before Conterno had fully taken over. This was a good Nebbiolo. Nothing that really jumped out at me, but solid and found it for a good price so enjoyable.

  Decided to crack my first one open on a rainy day watching the PGA. Popped and poured at cellar temp. Beautiful color with dark red at the rim and a beautiful ruby core. Nose has tarry earth, citrus and pomegranate, but is still relatively muted. Lovely blend of earth, raspberry fruit, crunchy acidity and fine tannins, all in good balance. Still pretty young and definitely get the sense it will have another gear or two with another 5-10 years.. I am going to decant and see what happens.
