The opener for tonight's festivities.....this is a wonderful example of the Reuling Vineyard and Fourmeaux winemaking. Fragrant nose of tea and flowers.....perfect weight in the mouth and perfect balance from front to back. Very Burgundian for a Cali Pinot. Probably deserves an even higher score for those who love their Burgundies........

Very much enjoyed this wine. As others have commented, it drinks very much like an old world Burgundy. It has great smells of cherry. Extremely smooth. A treat.
Stellar bottle. Slow ox'd upon arrival at HMC's for about 60-90 min prior to dinner of pork roast, while we enjoyed a couple of cabs and apps.
I've had a few bottles of these Fourmeaux pinot, but this one, at this moment is by far the most Burgundian of them all. I've recently been enjoying some of my stash of Sojourn pinots which we all love here, but they can never be confused with being Burgundian. The nose reeks of class with florals and perfume. I kept waiting for the Queen to walk through the door......gentle red fruit, difficult to place. It's not strawberry or cherry like the last bottle a year ago, maybe rhubarb? Maybe a guava? It's difficult to place but who cares, it's quite good. This wine has that unmistakable Reuling vineyard minerality and flavor profile but it's way in the background compared to the very upfront and powerful Cali entry from Sojourn. The wine is also perfectly balanced all around. A work of art bordering on a 96 for me. I don't think I've ever given a pinot a 96 before but I'm tempted with this bottle for what it brings to the table.

Immediate sense of depth and class at the pnp....up to 4 hours later, it's a beauty. Deep cherry and strawberry, smokey spice/hint of clove and black tea. Such a nice wine!
