Wonderful, old world styled chard. This has the longest cork I’ve ever seen on a white wine, presumably to insure a higher probability of successful long aging. Bright crisp acidity, nice mineral undertones. Lovely nose that shows lots of peach, apple and pear along with nice light floral notes. Palate is more citrus oriented but very focused and precise overall. Rather saline and lime zest dominant on the finish. This is my first bottle of the Mae Estate Chard from Tyler. Impressive but if my information is correct this is the first bottling from a vineyard planted in 2016, so the fruit is quite nice and bursting with energy, it does seem to lack a little depth which am pretty sure will improve as the vines mature. This vintage could score higher in the future and I would think future vintages will be weightier and with more depth of fruit flavor over time while remaining true to its style.

With CI French chicken in a pot. 12.8 abv. Decanted. 0- green- gold, bright and clear, aromatically lime and orange zest as well as citrus blossom florality, trace new oak, trace vanilla , saline, consistent, structured without excessive angularity, non creamy palate, medium plus juiciness -lifting minerality /acidity, medium bodied, inoffensive trace of oak, phenolic skin contact dissonance adds to the tension with a lengthy finish. First vintage of these young vines is quite impressive. super enjoyable if food friendly, Chablis like style is your thing.

Impressive Chardonnay from Justin W. at Tyler. This is focused and lean while at the same time being flavorful and fun. Good backbone of acidity with medium weight and some floral notes. New French oak makes this classic in flavor and style. Orchard fruit predominates.
