  • Medium yellow. Definitely some rubbery funk but herbs as well. Medium bodied with hard to describe fruit, herbs as the nose suggests, and strong finishishing minerality. Neither as clean nor as good as other Belluard whites I’ve tried recently. A little too bizarre for me.

  • Late night at home with J. 1 day old bottle. Tasted blind. Drank in Gabriel Standart. The story, the wine, the history. Poignant that I enjoyed the read of "Godforsaken Grapes" recently.
Appearance is slightly cloudy, pale intensity, lemon colour. Thin legs.
Nose medium intensity, with aromas of apple cider, sour lemon, yeasty lees, hint of alpine flowers. Developing.
On the palate, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of intense sour lemon, apple cider, quince, skin contact lees, sweet refreshing alpine flower juice, minerality. Long zippy acidic finish.
Very good quality. Refreshing invigorating wine that feels so unique. Feels like it might age well too.

  • It was great to have tried Eponyme, as sad as the story behind it may be. Very pure, mineral, some citrus and yeasty notes, fresh acidity. Very cool wine.

  • Pale yellow, medium+ intensity with lemon, elderflower, pineapple, minerality, slightly oxidative, grassy. Medium+ acidity, very long finish. 92+

Normally I’m not having great analogies while drinking a wine, but this felt like a fresh spring mountain stream with a unparalleled clarity.

The story behing this vintage is actually quite sad; the 2020 vintage has been made by Ganevat because the winemaker Dominique Belluart took his life.

Only 22ha worldwide planted with Gringet…

  • 1st of 2 bottles. No formal TN, this was a nice wine.
