  • At Le Mas Les Eydins in Bonnieux. This was on the reductive end of the spectrum but really vibrant and showing beautifully immediately from the cork being pulled. It was flinty, with nose of river stone and fine seasoning from the barrel toast. On the palate you have intense concentration with a lingering effect. But the wine is lithe with fresh squeezed lemon juice and a light oily character. Reminded me a lot of Caroline Morey’s whites.

  • Pierre Girardin Cellar Visit and Tasting (Meursault): At domaine. Mouth-filling cross-section of apple aromas and flavors with an intense richness and nuttiness. Very balanced already, clearly showing at least 1er Cru concentration. Not many vignerons serve Village wine between two Grand Crus, but this wine is special... and it is Folatières. 91-92+ point potential.
