A balanced blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose, it offers familiar dark fruit aromas and some earthy notes. The palate features a moderately full body with dark fruit flavors and a touch of spice. While it has a fairly balanced structure, the finish is somewhat short-lived. Overall, the 2019 Athene is a good wine for those looking to explore Burrowing Owl's offerings, but it may not leave a lasting impression on more discerning palates.

Is fine but really just a generic extracted and modern style wine without any real interesting character. Black fruits. Oak based notes. Cassis finish. All the usual AU cliché goodness. Would be an 82 pt wine but gets a +5 bonus on the roll for doing this pretty well.

Ready to drink now with decanting. Can also age. Rich flavour and well balanced. Some lingering acidity
