  • Twenty Years On Wines, Some Luxury at Home; 4/19/2024-5/9/2024 (Alicante y Madrid - España): By the glass. Vineyards around the village of Gaiole. Traditional production with aromas of dusty bitter cherries and smooth notes of wood. On the palate it is an austere wine, balanced and with a considerably long finish. Stuck to reality and a to the terroir too.

  • I think the bottle was somehowdefective, with a quite neutral nose, or just in an extremely closed up phase. I have a second bottle and will give it couple of years hoping for a better one.

  • Impressive Chianti Classico Riserva, sourced from two small vineyard plots (1,3 ha, Vigna Poggio and Vigna Sabbie) in the hamlet of Barbischio (municipality of Gaiole in Chianti, located about 25 kilometers north of the city of Siena). A blend of 94 % Sangiovese, 4 % Malvasia Nera and 2 % Canaiolo that was aged for thirteen months in French oak barrels (fifteen percent new) and refined in bottle for another twelve months before its release. Deep ruby-garnet in color and a delicious and complex nose offering intense aromas of sour cherry, violets, sweet herbs and a hint of thyme and cedar wood. The medium to full-bodied palate reveals a wonderfully balanced wine marked by gorgeous cherry and red forest fruit, with quite a creamy texture, an excellent depth and beautifully resolved tannins. Long, convincing aftertaste with a slight balsamic touch. A delightful bottle of wine that is drinking fantastically now, but also promising for the next three to five years.
