Tasted this Keplinger side by side with Herold Oakville Ranch ‘19. Both drank so well from 30 minute mark to hour 4! 3 tasters. We all tasted very similar notes: Huge purplish black fruit, super Structured Loads of cardamom, cloves, crushed rocks, cinnamon sticks, and mountain minerals! Depth and layers on both wines were memorable. I have a bunch of Herold OVR, I’d be sure to get some more Keplinger.
DJ if you are reading this: heck of a wine brother. Loved it. Cheers my man!

It's been over a year since I've tasted this wine and happened to be along side the 19 Keplinger Vine Hill Ranch. The compare and contrast of the higher elevation OVR was fascinating and educational. DJ pointed out to me the elevation of this vineyard is around 1K' feet. The firmer tannins and darker fruit are the biggest difference between the two. Structural and stylistically sharing a lot of similarities. Both amazing representations of vintage and place.

Dark color, heady nose, dark fruits, espresso, graphite, violets. Palate matches with richness, full body, all the layers, big structure. Pretty primary right now, I would hold this and enjoy.

A few days in Napa with fellow CT'r Cristal2000: 95% Cabernet Sauvignon/4%Cabernet Franc/1% Petit Verdot. More earth and darker fruit mark the Oakville relative to the RBK served beside it. Once again, the elegance and purity of fruit are on full display here. I slightly favored the Oakville for its extra layer of depth and accessibility at the moment compared to the more strung-up RBK. The Oakville finishes with . The are some of the most refined and classy Cabernet Sauvignons that can be found in the Valley.

Wine & Wagyu 4.
Another brilliant 19. One of my favorite Keplinger OVR vintages to date. A very cellar worth wine not to be missed.
175 Cases of total production.
