  A complex beast, this had a nose of rich red fruits -- raspberry and ripe cherry -- with also a slight caramel-ish note that came across a bit Port-like. The palate is medium+ bodied and had the same rich red fruits, but also brought violets to mind. Tertiary notes added complexity, and acidity brought freshness. The finish was round and long. This is ready to go and likely at peak.
