An intense nose with dense sourcherry fruit, but complemented by darker elements of fig or plum aswell as sweet rhubarb. Initially thick meaty base, but moving in the background. Minerlal notes of cool rock and light oaky accents. The palate almost antithetical with much lighter and fresher red berry fruit. Pure sourcherry and rhubarb. Well-strucutred with a soft texture, perfectly balanced acidity and consistent weight into the finish.

Crystalline fruit quality with flavours of blueberry and raspberry. There was pleasing acidity, a savoury entry but sweetness developed on the mid-palate through to the finish. Creamy, soft and rich-textured after half an hour or so in the glass this developed real complexity with a dark fruited finish. Top notch. CHP 92 pts

Sour cherry and ripe raspberry fruit, partially confit in style. Also rhubarb top notes. Meaty and herbaceous base. Appealing spicy and floral (rose petals) overlays. Fresh, nicely intense and fruit-forward palate. Juicy with soft tannin that still have a pretty firm grip. Nice acidity, mid-palate presence and a smoky sour cherry finish. This is a complete wine with the Drouhin handwriting all over it. While good to go now, I would decant 1h at least or cellar for 3-5 years for peak performance.

Ripe red cherry flavors with orange acidity following. There is some rose, raspberry, mushroom and fennel notes. The finish is mostly oaky vanilla with orange acidity with a little too much alcohol.

Some vanilla notes. Nice but generally unremarkable, especially for the price.
