  • There is an interesting balance here between Fiano as one knows it and generic white wine from McLaren Vale. Initially, it is all the latter but over a few hours the wine starts to reveal itself, as is often the way.

Green gold colour and bright, but with a bit more depth than one might expect from such a young thing. The colour doesn't suggest it, but the nose and palate suggest some slightly oxidative handling and maybe some battonage, to produce a mouthfeel that goes a bit beyond crisp and clean and suggests chalkiness which creates some tension in what could, otherwise, be a pleasant but humdrum wine.

Fruit is tropical, some lemon and there is a hint of toast. Length is very good. This would likely be fantastic with fish, if that loathsome 'food' is something you indulge in. This is not wine to ponder but for a Friday night it is just dandy.
