Purchased from Garagiste for 11.83/b almost eight years ago (delivered...probably within a year from purchase (that's G'iste)). This was remarkably good for its sheer durability: pale yellow/green color, subdued nose of grass/bit of citrus, round mouthfeel (from the Riesling) and some grassiness, modest finish. Delicious with "Denver" quiche and sauteed zukes and peppers. The spiciness has faded, but it is still delicious and round, fully dry. Yum!

Pale gold. 65% Sauvignon Blanc 35% Welschriesling. The nose is mostly green pepper, but offers some citrus notes as well. Smells like Gruner Veltliner. Strong Sauvignon Blanc on the palate. Cut grass, grapefruit, a bit of gooseberry and racy acidity leads to minerals on the back end. Refeshing and clean, good finish. Good stuff!

Grassy, perfumey, lime, honeydew melon and mineral when chilled. When it warms pear and dough with a nice sweetness. Great acidity, refreshing, nice feel/weight.

(MAROF Beli-Kriz) UPDATE: San Francisco I have a last minute trip to San Francisco next week so why not get together with our Bay Area friends? If you have the time, I'll be at Cav Wine Bar on Market St at 6:00pm on Tuesday, July 7th. If anyone wishes to join me, just RSVP to the invite link so I can warn the venue that we may take over (this is not a formal tasting or anything - I'll be a paying customer just like everyone else but they do have a really good wine list - I may tow a few interesting selections along just in case): http://twtvite.com/1c8lja If you have any additional questions, please forward them to: shira@garagistewine.com Hope to see many of you next week - - Jon Rimmerman *********************** Beli Kriz Dear Friends, Beli-Kriz is what summer is all about (from a connoisseurs perspective, that is). Come August, you will be very happy to have a stash of this precious stone-faced nectar - I'm on my third bottle and I can't wait for the next one. Produced at this Slovenian property near the corner of Hungary and Austria since the turn of the last century (1905 to be precise), this wine embodies why Slovenia has some of the most potential in all of Europe. If you are a fan of the Mosel, Styria, Sancerre and Touraine, this wine combines the essence of all four regions in one dry as a bone bottle that is like catching electric lightning in a glass enclosure. As a classic 2007 European white wine, this low-alcohol example (12.0-12.5%) combines Sauvignon Blanc and Welsh Riesling to wash the palate with cleansing citric and stone fruit properties that are divinely pure in make-up. A gorgeous wine. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for quality, value and discovery of an emerging region. ONE SHIPMENT ONLY (I believe there are only 60 cases of this wine for the entire US) 2007 Marof Beli-Kriz (Prekmurje/Slovenia) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA SLO9000

Glad to see I have 1 more bottle. This was delicious, with superb acidity that worked great with rack of lamb hot off the grill.
