Still very structured; could easily go another five years. Excellent mouth feel with characteristic punch of a petit syrah. Went great with ribs.

Still drinking great. Added a point because we've perceived added maturity has brought improved integration and longggg finish.

Filtered decant. Little bit of sediment, big nose, typical staining Petite ink. Opened up quickly. Our final bottle, softened yet still good structure with chewy savory old world goodness. Dusty black fruit with totally resolved integrated tannins that paired perfectly with with gourmet BBQ bacon wrapped caramelized onion stuffed cheese burgers on toasted chipotle onion buns. :-p Few wines will hold up let alone compliment that recipe.
Me = 91, family = 93 ... so democracy = 92 once again. Now, on to the 2007 vintage. Gotta love Jeff Cohn!

Quite polished for a Petite Sirah. It should continue to age and was fun to drink. Typical Petite Sirah simplicity. User friendly style.

First sip from the bottle = chewy tannic & closed. Decanted with filtration and aeration and hour later it opened up nicely and continued to improve for the remainder of evening as the tannins retreated and earthy, spicey, blackberry fruit surfaced. This IS Petite Sirah at its very core and while not quite as complex as our PS favorites it is excellent nonetheless. Proved a great match with BBQ prime ribeye (moderate spice rub on beef and mesquite chips). We're big fans of Jeff Cohn. Glad we have more and expect it will cellar well for several more years.

Just hitting its peak, nowhere near the end of its drinking window. Deep, teeth-staining purple. Dropped a lot of sediment. Tannins are still string yet they’ve mellowed to where this is really nice to drink now. Great deep fruit intensity. Great for sipping and with food, like pan-seared duck breast. Wish I could get more if this.

Remarkably big and bold. Rich and mouth-coating with chewy tannins. Currant, blackberries, blueberries on the nose. Not a zingy acidity, but well-balanced. A truly outstanding wine that is still drinking so well. I'd happily open this for several years.

Tasted in a mini-vertical with 2006/2007/2008. The 2007 was the group favorite with bright peppery fruit and probably at its prime. The 2008 was pleasant-- a bit tannic and the fruit may fade first. The 2006 was also pleasant and soft (a bit prune-like). All three worth drinking up.

Dark blackberry, black cherry, smoky and inky. This is a big fruity wine with high tannins that will hold up and maybe benefit from more time. Nice peppery, medium finish.

Dark purple in the glass. Full nose of blueberry compote and dark ash. Echoed on the full-bodied palate with firm tannins. Still plenty of time left.

Wild black fruit adventure- delicious blackberry and plum with savoury and pepper. Dark ruby colour. Best two hours plus after decanting yet still tasting soft tannic tones but with pleasant uniqueness.

Smooth, big dark fruit (blackberry, prune) tastes. Not as vibrant tastes as 2013 bottle. Past its prime?

Black core with bright purple rim; lots of vanilla and coconut at first, it subsides with air to reveal rich dark fruit, compact, menthol, cedar; palate is thick strong and grainy with dominating tannins, almost pruny fruit which reminds me of Amarone in a way; tasty.

As before, this was an awesome PS. Big fruit with plenty of structure and complexity. Seemed to have plenty of life left and got better over the course of an hour. Long finish. I sure wish I could get more of this. 93+

Wow, what a pleasant surprise. A great big Napa wine with lots of fruit and a really long finish. Decanted for an hour and paired with leg of lamb.

Still needs air time to open up.
remained pretty muted and shut for about 3 hours before it started to hit its stride.
Aromas of chocolate, dried cherries, fig, cassis, cooked plum, sweet tobacco, toffee, vanilla and toast. On the palate polished and dense. Dark berry flavors include blackberry preserves, black plum, and currant that are expressive with a heavy dose of mocha, leather, toffee and sweet toasty oak notes. The moderate chocolatey tannins are grippy and the acidity is moderate. The chewy finish is long and moderate plus in intensity.
