4/15/2024 - ebuckley Likes this wine: 91 pointsStill very structured; could easily go another five years. Excellent mouth feel with characteristic punch of a petit syrah. Went great with ribs. |

5/17/2020 - IAmVintage wrote: 92 pointsFiltered decant. Little bit of sediment, big nose, typical staining Petite ink. Opened up quickly. Our final bottle, softened yet still good structure with chewy savory old world goodness. Dusty black fruit with totally resolved integrated tannins that paired perfectly with with gourmet BBQ bacon wrapped caramelized onion stuffed cheese burgers on toasted chipotle onion buns. :-p Few wines will hold up let alone compliment that recipe. |

5/20/2018 - IAmVintage wrote: 92 pointsFirst sip from the bottle = chewy tannic & closed. Decanted with filtration and aeration and hour later it opened up nicely and continued to improve for the remainder of evening as the tannins retreated and earthy, spicey, blackberry fruit surfaced. This IS Petite Sirah at its very core and while not quite as complex as our PS favorites it is excellent nonetheless. Proved a great match with BBQ prime ribeye (moderate spice rub on beef and mesquite chips). We're big fans of Jeff Cohn. Glad we have more and expect it will cellar well for several more years. |

10/7/2017 - mac-eye Likes this wine: 93 pointsJust hitting its peak, nowhere near the end of its drinking window. Deep, teeth-staining purple. Dropped a lot of sediment. Tannins are still string yet they’ve mellowed to where this is really nice to drink now. Great deep fruit intensity. Great for sipping and with food, like pan-seared duck breast. Wish I could get more if this. |

6/6/2016 - DougSamuel Likes this wine: 92 pointsRemarkably big and bold. Rich and mouth-coating with chewy tannins. Currant, blackberries, blueberries on the nose. Not a zingy acidity, but well-balanced. A truly outstanding wine that is still drinking so well. I'd happily open this for several years. |

9/28/2015 - smcg Likes this wine: 90 pointsTasted in a mini-vertical with 2006/2007/2008. The 2007 was the group favorite with bright peppery fruit and probably at its prime. The 2008 was pleasant-- a bit tannic and the fruit may fade first. The 2006 was also pleasant and soft (a bit prune-like). All three worth drinking up. |
