Quite enjoyable wine, spicy with a solid structure and good taste. However I think, as with many super-Tuscans, it's over-hyped and over-priced. Most Tuscans are good solid wines (and only a few really great) but you can get the same quality from Bordeaux at a third of the price...

Nice and mature on the nose, with red berries, graphite, and floral tones. The palate is also nice and solid, but with a few surprisingly hard edges on the mid-palate and a bit of heat. Medium finish with notes of tobacco and spices. Nice, but not worth the price.

Delicious out of bottle, but stunning after a day of aereation; big, full dark fruit with caramel and other luscious overtones. What a winner. 50/5/13/17/8

I pick up tart cherries and earth on the nose. It has a nice flavor and a good gripping finish. I feel the other bottle I had showed better but this was still good.

Decanted for one hour, utilizing a funnel. Eggplant-violet in colour, with a ruby rim. Very aromatic; baked raisin, currant, charcoal and a floral quality that's fresh. Soft tannins and the palate is very mouth coating. A wonderful '03, with evident acidity. Not overtly concentrated at all, while retaining the right amount of elegance. Elisabetta really did a fine job with this vintage being so hot. The raisin quality is not over-done at all. Starting to drink well and still has a long time left. What a pleasure. Drink now - 2018.
