PNP. Cork wet to the top and leaking. I didn’t start w high hopes. Color is gold. Nose dominated by pineapple and citrus. Swishing shows great acidity to match the residual sugar which is resolving over time. This has super intensity of flavor on sipping w peach on palate and comes off less sweet than previous bottles. I agree w CFK49 that this is dynamite. Serves well at cellar temp. Lots left in the tank. Drink or hold.

A dazzling bottle -- hot year and Saar. Virtually dry now with depth, firmness, and precise, deep, intense peach and apricot fruit. Cellared since original release.

The 2005 vintage was Bert Simon's last as he retired and has sold the estate. Bert compared his 2005 vintage to 1990 in terms of style. This Spatlese was picked at 103 Ochsle. We drank this after a 2003 JJ Prum kabinet. Medium yellow color. Light petrol aromas (especially compared to the Prum). Notes of pears, apricots and kumquat. Medium sweetness. This bottle was not as good as the numerous 2003's that I've had. 89-90 points.

(Bert Simon Serriger Wurtzberg Spatlese) The best of the Spatlesen so far. Liquid minerals and huge fruit on the nose. Extremely viscous with conentrated, ripe, pulpy and fleshy fruit. Incredible length. Wow wine!

Peach and stone fruit aromas follow through on the palate. Again, could use a bit more acidity. This seemed a bit flat and one dimensional.
