Very nice dark fruit on the nose and palate at P&P, becoming very smooth throughout dinner. Slight pepper, forest floor nose persisted thru the entire bottle. Very good Gigondas for $22/delivered in 2010. NICE!

This has held up well through the years. It's still got some sweet, grippy tannins that give it structure and a lengthy berry filled finish; huge on the mid-palate, and not too over the top with the ABV heat. Wines of this ilk always end up with a raisiny bitterness as they start to fall to pieces, and underneath all its fruit and grit, this wine falls in line in this way. My thought is that this was probably at its best 5 years ago and not much worse now. The tannins have given it a long life, but there's only so many sands left in the hourglass.

Developed aromas of prunes, herbs and black olives. Has lost fruit and structure and appears a bit tired.

Same impressions as on 5/11/18. Great wine for $22.22 delivered from NJ.
