Tasted by Quarked on 5/26/2010 flawed bottle: Overwhelming burnt rubber on the nose - smells corked, but in a new and unique way that I haven't experienced before. (538 views)

Tasted by svirac on 2/27/2010 & rated 88 points: Very dark wine in the glass, almost inky. The nose on this wine was initially strange, but strangely inviting after the 1st 10 minutes (some component I can't identify blew off) - it wasn't a nose I was used to, but I kind of liked it - I think. Stewed tomatoes, some deep berries, maybe currants. The alcohol was dominant on the palate at first, but calmed down with time. Notes of cocoa and currants, some definite anise on the palate too. Not a long finish, but it did linger a bit more than I may have expected. I found myself enjoying it a bit more as it had more time to breath. I'd decant 2+ hours if I drank this again. But alas, I don't think I'd make another purchase. (1107 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 2/19/2010 & rated 88 points: nose is disappointing but the wine is enjoyable as long as it has adequate time to breath. Currants and nice finish (1210 views)
Tasted by mclgreenville on 2/19/2010 & rated 88 points: Dark purple/red in color.
Nose for me is mostly stewed tomatoes / tomato stems and maybe some celery. Hints of pepper.
Palette is more tomatoes and bits of green pepper. More old world than new for sure. Little bit of grip and a short but satisfying finish.
I don't love this wine but I don't hate it. Kind of torn. I opened it last night and did not like it. Had one glass. It's better on day 2 so I will decant my last bottle for sure. (1239 views)
Tasted by njAndrew on 2/3/2010 & rated 88 points: I thought this was a good QPR at the $15 sale price. It was opened for about 30min before I arrived but was told there was a funky nose on opening that blew off (maybe the rubber others are talking about). Dark purple color with dark fruit, currants, light oak, and some spice. Smooth mouth feel with some tannins still present. If I could grab it at the sale price again I would. (1365 views)

Tasted by zinhead on 1/25/2010 & rated 88 points: Initially very herbal. Decanted for about 90 minutes. Opened to pronounced nose of black fruit, rosemary light oak lead pencil and floral. Full bodied with medium plus length. The herbal quality really diminished with air. Frankly I preferred this wine to it's big brother "Altair". (1423 views)

Tasted by bgnose on 1/4/2010 & rated 84 points: I should have read the reviews before purchasing this wine. The burnt rubber smell is very disturbing and takes away from the overall experience. (1667 views)
Tasted by RussK on 12/21/2009 & rated 85 points: RUSSK. Interesting (read unpleasant) nose of rubber and something else yet unidentified. Hot alc. Full bodied and slick. Hard to get beyond the odd nose and alc. Would not buy again, even at $13 bottle. (1884 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 11/16/2009 & rated 91 points: As per my prior notes, Opaque w/ ruby at the edge. That very interesting nose of rubber, smoke and tobacco? along w/ spice box. A bit on the tannic side so this still has aging potential. Decent, drying finish. (2268 views)
Tasted by mn47 on 11/14/2009 & rated 93 points: Ouf! (2190 views)
Tasted by bin905 on 9/26/2009 & rated 89 points: Garnet red color. Spice, currant, blackberry, black coffee, and mineral/earth flavors, with ample tannins on the finish. (2478 views)
Tasted by Quarked on 9/21/2009 & rated 85 points: (2138 views)
Tasted by maderay on 9/18/2009 & rated 88 points: (2144 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 8/20/2009 & rated 90 points: (1418 views)
Tasted by tbailey540 on 8/18/2009 & rated 90 points: good fruit, good balance (2679 views)
Tasted by Gfritzh on 7/20/2009 & rated 86 points: A pleasant Chilean Blend with laid back fruit and herbal notes typical in Chilean reds. (2821 views)
Tasted by Clement L on 6/27/2009 & rated 86 points: Spicy cocoa nose with hints of pineapple and apricots (interestingly enough). On palate dry, chocolately blackcurrant. Slightly medicinal. Tannins firm but not harsh. Quite atypical cabernet. Would do with several more years in the bottle. (1755 views)
Tasted by Brownvino on 5/29/2009 & rated 85 points: (2532 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 5/10/2009 & rated 90 points: Still w/ that odd, interesting nose! (3150 views)
Tasted by mrpalmer on 5/4/2009 & rated 84 points: Not terrifically inspiring. Still good structure but kind of dies. (3219 views)
