Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 86.5 pts. and median of 87 pts. in 11 notes)

Tasted by Loren Sonkin on 12/23/2009 & rated 86 points: Veneto - $20 to $40: Inky purple in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is dusty with dark cherries. Tart charries on the palate, which is fine but it just drops off in the midpalate. The texture is juicy, but then the finish fades quickly. I thought this would be better. A fine enough wine at the table depending on price I guess. (370 views)

Tasted by GuruofAV on 9/5/2009 & rated 89 points: Nose of plums and figs, notes of blackberries. Flavorful, black cherries, blueberries, raspberries, with notes of tobacco. Good for the price (600 views)
Tasted by DonSolo69 on 8/22/2009 & rated 86 points: Decent Ripasso. Pretty well balanced. Smells of cherries and raisins on the nose. lighter taste than some other Ripassos i have had. (603 views)

Tasted by Maestro on 4/27/2009 & rated 82 points: Alright Ripasso, but very fruit-forward and without enough complexity. The aromas are the usual red cherries and raisins, developing into some chocolate and spices after a lot of aeration. Not exciting. (969 views)
Tasted by hutch on 4/8/2009 & rated 88 points: Wine Marketing Tasting (Newport): Nice and rich, but with balance. Good. 88-89 (818 views)
Tasted by n8540 on 12/4/2008 & rated 86 points: Had at an Italian restaurant with fish. Nice and mellow, light enough to drink with fish, but structured enough to hold it's own. Served a little warmer than I would like, but overall a pretty good wine. (916 views)
