Tasted by vdv115 on 2/5/2010 & rated 90 points: Full bodied Sauvignon Blanc with with lemon, grapefruit, floral and spice aspects on the nose. Crisp with a great level of acidity, Peach, grapefruit, lemon and grass on the palate. This is an outstanding Sauvignon Blanc that has a long finish, great structure and has a lot of tropical fruit flavors. (676 views)

Tasted by rmalloy on 1/24/2010 & rated 91 points: Some good varietal character. Gooseberries, grass, and sweet grapefruit. Fairly creamy. This wine didn't have the crispness I look for in a sauvignon blanc. Though the acidity is reasonable, the wine overall tasted a bit flat and too sweet. 86.

Edit: Drinking this the next day, I do not agree with my previous comments and rating. I find the wine outstanding. It tastes bright and zingy, not flat. It's a bit sweet but not overly so by any means. I find the same notes of gooseberries, grass, and grapefruit as yesterday, plus some peach. This wine is very assertive with the grapefruit and grass, in a profound and satisfying way. 91. (1657 views)
Tasted by Combo on 1/23/2010 & rated 90 points: Enjoyed with broiled salmon and risotto (used some of the wine to make the risotto). Very nice, citrusy bot not too much... (1732 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 1/23/2010: A little too tart and grape-fruity the first time I had it but the second bottle was much nicer...refreshing and a bit spicy. (1685 views)
Tasted by davemj on 1/20/2010: Opened tonight, finished Fri, 1/22. (1611 views)
Tasted by Craigrow on 1/20/2010 & rated 90 points: Citrusy! The perfect compliment to grilled Halibut.

Tasted by waragi on 1/13/2010: Nose and initial taste of grapefruit, followed by kiwi, lime zest and fresh herbs. On warming, the tropical flavors come to the forefront and the wine takes on a rounder character. Very nice. (2219 views)
Tasted by seattleguy on 1/11/2010 & rated 89 points: Tropical fruit, pear, mild citrus. Very tasty. (2467 views)
Tasted by monotone on 1/10/2010: Initially grapefruit oriented (more than 2007's) with a hint of temperate fruit (apricot), later on a earthy citrus softness settles in and, on that, the previous reviewer's 'lemongrass-y' is spot on. On the palate, always feels solid. Remains among the top <$20 cdn whites. [4.0] (2486 views)
 Tasted by Brian1970 on 1/9/2010 & rated 89 points: (1828 views)

These grapes were selected from a number of vineyards throughout the Marlborough region. Individual blocks were targeted for their strengths and overall contribution to the blend. The grapes were machine harvested in the cool of the evening and overnight to preserve flavours. Each block was kept separate throughout the various stages of the winemaking process. Fermentations were carried out at cool temperatures and when all tanks had completed ferment they were proportionately blended, fined, stabilised and bottled. All these factors have resulted in the plethora of fruit flavours, power and complexity of this stunning wine.
  • Colour: Pale green.
  • Aroma: Lifted aromatics of tropical fruits combined with the traditional nettle and herbaceous aromas of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

  • Food Match: Good to drink with anyone at anytime. Ideally suited to asparagus, oysters and summer salads.
  • Cellar: This wine will continue to develop for years to come.
  • Brix at harvest: 20.8 – 22.1
  • Alcohol: 12.9%
