2006 Domaine d'Eugénie Vosne-Romanée - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée
Not bad for a villages but tannins are noticeably coarse and tight. (85 pts.)

1985 Antinori Solaia - Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT
Smoky and ripe. A little stewed. Hint of mint. Some thought it tasted like a cheval blanc (93 pts.)
1985 Joseph Phelps Insignia - USA, California, Napa Valley
Exotic nose of herbs, spices, smoke, black olives and green peppers. Great pairing with the Solaia 85. Both could be mistaken for a right bank Bordeaux. (94 pts.)

1978 Bouchard Père et Fils Montrachet - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Montrachet Grand Cru
Very toasty and smoky. A little too dry and acidic (86 pts.)
