  • 2009 Domaine Michel Briday Rully 1er Cru Gresigny - France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Rully 1er Cru
This bottle showed nicely with some apple, lemon and minerality. Not as creamy as previous bottles. Ann really enjoyed it.
  • 2006 Dominus Napanook Red - USA, California, Napa Valley
Tasted double blind. Big nose of mint, dark fruits and a little bit of alc. Ripe dark fruits, spices, some menthol, leather, slight earth. Good acidity and lots of fine tannins. Really enjoyed this. Drink now or hold.
  • 2003 Chateau Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon (Non Estate) Napa Valley - USA, California, Napa Valley
After the Napanook, this was a little disappointing. More subdued nose, less complex. The alcohol was more in balance, but this was still all about the fruit without much in secondary flavors. Mostly black and blue fruits, good acidity and tannins. There is good fruit, acid and tannin so maybe it will gain complexity with more time but I'm not sure.
  • 2004 Luce La Vite Lucente Toscana IGT - Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT
Dry, dark fruits, a little earth and slight herbaceous notes. Still shows lots of tannin. Enjoyed it.
