Going downhill and fast. Lacks any semblance of a petit syrah body or flavor aside from the black purple color of the wine. Running it through a vinturi briefly improved it, but it was unwilling to let go, perhaps because there was nothing to let go of. Decanting didn't do much either, nor did glass time. Maybe I'm wrong here ... Jonathon Newman raved about this one ... somewhere in the 90's, but I don't like whimpy petite sirahs! I want big fruit, stain the teeth, know I've had some wine with a grilled burger, but this was like it had been watered down. I had rated this 87 both times before ... what was I thinking! Delicious but very tight ... needs more time in bottle to integrate and tame the heat of the alcohol. Pleasantly long finish that hints at more to come for those of us willing to wait. I'm having a big glass tonight ... but really looking forward to tasting it tomorrow. For this price, definitely fighting out of it's weight class. Wow- I really liked this wine. Picked it up at the Legal Sea Foods market after having it as part of a tasting flight. Really closed on the nose and harsh at first, but after putting it through a Soiree on-the-bottle wine decanter it opened up very nicely.
