Red Wine: No great wines, only great bottles (Salil's, Albany, NY): [Pop and pour.] Lovely nose of black fruit and spice. Bright red fruit in the mouth. Long finish. Impressive! One of the best LI wines I've had. (257 views)

Very happily surprised when I tried this bottle. Drinking very nicely, with blue and red fruit flavors and nuances, smooth and elegant. Fully mature but by no means over the hill. (126 views)

No score this time because I don't want to skew the average (LOL as the only person writing up this wine to date) but I'd give it a 93 again, roughly a year since my previous note. Such a solid, enjoyable and savor-able wine. Nothing flashy or funky, this is like a black tie with a black shirt and a black suit and black shoes, not a single fleck of dust or lint nor a stray thread. Elegant and classic. High volume of dark red-to-black fruit, seamless 13.8 ABV, and a long-ish finish for a Long Island wine. Kudos. And an amazing QPR. (188 views)

Initially very fruity on the nose. Light color, fine tannins, reasonably balanced. Notes of liquorice and bell pepper began to shine through... Tannins grew a bit. (194 views)

As a NV, not sure when it was made, though I purchased it in 2016. This is a pretty good wine and the cellar time may have helped. Had I tasted it blind, I would not have guessed its provenance. Has more depth and structure than I expected. Still going strong on day two and actually improved. Fruit forward, peppery, some vegetal flavors and a little bitter on the finish, but would happily get it again. Stacks up well in the price range against Cali offerings, and that is a very pleasant surprise. (692 views)

Beautiful from sniff to swallow. Refined notes of concentrated red fruits, strongly aromatic, silky smooth. Not super complex but no weak spots, either. Very enjoyable, and that's what it's all about. (263 views)

Shinn has hit it out of the park with this vintage. Beautiful floral nose, complex on the palate with hints of everything and nothing overwhelming--dark red fruits, bit of oak, bit of bell pepper, some sweet tobacco. Need more! (400 views)

Interesting mix of 5 grapes with these 3 - 36% Sauvignon Blanc; 34% Chardonnay; 26% Riesling dominating the mixture...while enjoyed in the store tasting it was not as well received at home; perhaps too much of mixing...as far as mixing various white grapes goes..one of the few that really pulls it off is the Evolution 19 from Oregon (if I remember correctly); still this Long Island White was refreshing on a hot and steamy New York night...
