100% Syrah— not much of this made by the winery. Slight bit of brett that blew off. Blackberries, licorice, garrigue; great balance; bit of a tannic finish that was tamed with a pairing of homemade chili. A great value, this gained complexity with air, showing different facets over the course of the evening. (17 views)

Serious high toned red. Can easily last another 10 years. This is drinking fine now, and will remain a good food pairing due to it's acidity. A good pairing with grilled beef. (22 views)

Heavy leather, oak, soil and red fruit on the nose. Ripe cherry, raspberry, dark chocolate, butter and baking spice on the palate. Starts out really juicy, with soft tannins and a medium body that moves towards a long and markedly dry finish. This nice bit of textural contrast adds depth to a rather oily, funky drinking experience. At hardly two years old, it certainly tastes young, but it's still a good value Côtes du Rhône option. Purchased as a cooking ingredient at Maxima in Rīga on promotion at €5.49. Synthetic stopper. Lightish ruby colour. The nose exudes alcohol, though this is labelled as a rather humble 13%. Some modest grenache comes through, but it's oxidative as well. Definitely not good. The mouth is light-bodied with simple, yet brutally fermented fruit which is lacking in both concentration and grip, being harsh and alcoholic. I suppose the mouth beats the nose if the two were to battle for which was the least vicious, but it doesn't save the wine from being a worse than dire representative of the Côtes du Rhône genre. Good density of red and blue fruits with ginger, bright raspberries, violet, toasted nuts and sweet spices. Medium-bodied structure with rich and fresh acidity. Good purity of fruits from entry to finish which is extended and grippy. Still young but promising development potential for the next 3-5 years. Very good quality for a regular Cote du Rhone. 91-92 pts. (25 views)
