Green-gold color. Sumptuous floral aroma mixed with stone fruit and petrichor. Full-bodied, oily on the palate, the florals are prettily to the fore. There are also hints of lemonade and crushed minerals which round out the flavors. Really fabulous. Excellent. (21 views)

Well made, dark themed chateauneuf de pape. Just not my favorite style of wine

Dense, expressive and complex, a great CdP. Very mature blackberries, raspberries, fine leather, plum, chocolate, mokka, contrasted by mint, roast and garrigue notes. Full bodied, multi-facetted, with a charming phenolic and umami finish. Already a treat, and likely to keep the steam for another 5-10 years. (30 views)

Wines Before / At / After a Passover Seder (The Krengels - Bannockburn IL): Popped and poured, there is so much here, just not yet fully accessible, and not yet fun. Dense and chewy black fruits, meaty and gamy with backward structure. An hour+ of air would have helped. Better from 2028, 92-95 point potential. (179 views)

Pretty garnet with the faintest hint of purple, translucent. The nose is very pretty from the get go, and complex with many layers to unpack. At first still seems young and fresh, with little secondary characteristics to show, but currently in a real sweet spot of balance.

Macerated red and black raspberries, redwood blossoms, and vanilla dominate while hints of pine tinder and resin, horsemint, and loam waft in and out to add to the interest.

On the palate its juicy and vibrant, stewed berries and pepper with earthy elements of clay and field herbs. Really nice.

One reason this estate is a favorite is that even at only four years, this chateauneuf is ready to go, or you can ley it down for years. Drink up and enjoy as a fresh and supple wine, or lay down for ten plus years. Generous now, in another 5-10 this should be perfect, and good for another five to ten after that. (59 views)
