Worth decanting and then there’s lots of ripe fruit, cardamom, and dark chocolate. Tannins a little firm and rustic but went down very nicely with roast beef. Good honest wine. Cost around £15, I think. (648 views)

Light pink colour. Fresh yet quite discreet nose with notes of raspberries and wild strawberries. Mouthfeel is light, fresh, uncomplicated, with nice acidity and notes of raspberries, wild strawberries and citrus.

Earthy nose of dark fruit, dried herbs, leather, potting soil and oak, well-balanced, expressive palate of black currant and black cherry pie coalescing nicely with licorice, vanilla, dark chocolate, earl grey tea and black pepper, soft and refined tannins, quite lengthy, vanilla finish. I was excited about this wine after talking to the wine merchant and discussing all things wine!
So on inspection this wine had a deep ruby colour right into the meniscus. A promising start. Slightly disappointing on the nose - a little acerbic at first but mellowing as its allowed to breath, becoming oaky and tanic but essentially closed and not giving much away at this stage. Realy, this one needs to breath for a couple of hours before drinking. On the palet the attack is amiable but lacking in those deep red Berry flavours i was expecting and the subtle Berry flavours give way to paraffin and petrol having a slight astringency to it, perhaps a little stalky but not unpleasant- just not expected.
So would I buy again? Yes, its flavours developed over the evening and those deep blackberry and blueberry flavours came to the forefront. The finish was much more pleasant and a beautifully flavoursome. DEFINITELY let this one breath a little first! (403 views)

Mouthfeel is nice, fruity, with fine-grained tannins, good acidity and notes of black currants, plums and a touch of licorice, with some vanilla hints coming through in the aftertaste.

mittlere Farbe, recht ölig am Rand. Etwas Cassis, ein Hauch Holz, sehr delikat bereits in der Nase. Am Gaumen mit guter Fülle, sehr elegant, reife Säure, die aber eine schöne Struktur mitgibt, erstaunlich lang und sehr geschmeidig. Ein sehr leckerer Bordeaux Superieur, der sich eher wie ein Margaux präsentiert. (1137 views)
