Opened last night, it was at first like a good Gevrey, nothing more. Later in the evening, it was at 1er cru level with greater density and precision, but no Clos de Bèze terroir showing. Today at noon, it definitely showed Clos de Bèze terroir of dark fruit and musk. Still youthful, my advice is to hold another five years, at least, but if you're opening now, give it a long decant. Also certainly ripe but enough concentration and structure to provide support. I haven't tasted this wine since the 2015 vintage, and am very excited on where this top notch Fixin is going. Very enjoyable Gevrey. Medium to full bodied, damp earth and dried rose petals on the nose. Good balance, lively acidity, savory. Drinks very young, consumed two glasses first night and vacuumed the remainder which was consumed 48 hours later. Even better and more complex on day 3. Give it some air if you drink now, but patience will be rewarded. Enjoyed this. (100 views)

Opened blind, I thought it was overly light, smoky and advanced and thought 10+ years old. With an hour of air, this opened up beautifully, rich. Hold. (94 views)

This is a medium to dark purple wine. It's dark for a pinot noir but well within the variety limits. There's dark fruit, forest floor, and leather on the nose. The palate is spicy blackberry and black cherry along with some cranberry. There's oak and firm tannins on the long finish. The body is full with a fleshy consistency. This wine has deep intensity. It's very drinkable now, however, the tannins will hold up for another 10-20 years. Overall, this is a fine, varietal wine for a red Burgundy. It's a masculine Burgundy as one would expect from Gevrey. I'm glad that I still have three bottles remaining. (75 views)
