Wine from a small vineyard (approx.3ha) located behind the old town on terraces at an altitude of 350m and planted with 80%Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, fermented in stainless steel and aged in large fouders and clay amphorae. This is one of the most unusual Gigondas I drank so far, completely at odds with the stereotypical image of a forceful macho-wine. It is completely in finesse and strongly dominated by the Grenache with a fairly light color with some browning, a voluptuous smell I always associate with roasted peanuts and a supple taste with stunning acidity followed by a quite long finish. The 14,5% alcohol is barely noticeable. Based on this bottle, to me, this wine seems to be completely ready to drink. (465 views)

As a CDP lover I found this to be a bit one dimensional and borderline thin
Lightly fruited nose with some herbalness
Tongue is plum, ripe cherry, with nice tannins and some acidity..;
It’s a nice wine but lacks depth and complexity
Certainly not a wine to remember
The price was right on sale but would have felt

Popped and poured. Still outstanding, though a tad less impressive than my 2022 tasting of the same wine. Strong color with a bloody rim, and a nose that is still very lovely and expressive. Seems to have lost just a bit in the mouth, but still alive and kicking. Still, I’d for drinking any remaining stock in the near term. 5-13-16-9: 93/100. (512 views)

Intermediate clear and dark red color, not too bright.

Medium acidity. Medium body. Soft but still noticeable tanines. Nice structure👏

Wonderfully aromatic, terroir, barrels, spices, ageing and also red and black fruits👏

Balanced, harmonic, nothing extravagant on the palate: stone, earthy, leather, coconut, vanilla, cherry, raspberries, strawberries, plum, ginger, anise 👏

60% whole bunch, aged in Stockinger foudres with 20% aged in terracotta amphorae. Decanted 2h & drunk over an hour.

Black currant, soy sauce, hint of barnyard & smoked meat, cherry, black tea, strawberry, cedar, floral.

Still quite the life ahead of this wine. Will try my best bottle in a year or two. (136 views)

2nd of 6. Similar presentation as my last bottle. Elegant and fairly balanced, but the 15% hit me a bit harder this time. The fruit is fresh and delicious and has pretty good persistency. The nose is lovely. 92-93. (430 views)
