PNP - Paired wonderfully with venison steaks and blueberry sauce. Blue fruits and slightly gamey on the nose (the wine, not the dish) took a little bit to coax out of the glass. An hour decant would've been the move here. Palate was fuller, fruitier and more approachable than the Bonnivieres. Not much complexity yet but a pleasurable drink now with potential. Will be interesting to see how these two develop over the next 5+years. (36 views)

Chaillets is one of my favorite Condrieu, but perhaps 2020 was too warm a year for it to really shine. Aromatic, oily, unctuous, felt rich without being cloying and despite the just 13.5% ABV. Just doesn’t quite have the same acidity that made 2017 great (an equally warm vintage, but perhaps drier?) I chugged the remainder from the bottle at the end and went to bed smelling papaya. Nose of earthy feet, lemon flowers, some sulfur. Palate: Thick mouthfeel, dirt and oak, lemon zest. I didn't get any of the apricot from when I had this back in October as this bottle had a much heavier and oakier weight to it then I remember. (51 views)

Dense ruby. Some medium to dark red fruit, but relatively muted and compact. Tannins pretty much resolved, the structural profile being very much acidity led. Not a huge amount of complexity here, and a little shrill. Perfectly drinkable, but expensive (12 years ago) for what it is. Holds well overnight, possibly better balanced now, but still no more than mid *** (40 views)

Excellent dessert wine. Followed a Peay Viognier and a Turkey Flat Shiraz and this held up the honor of France. The Viognier character was on the fringes of the nose and palate but definitely present. Beautiful wine and a great bottle to follow final Viognier vineyard pruning. (66 views)

Exceptional wine for the price. Spicy with rich fruit. It tastes unmistakably like a Northern Rhone wine. We paired it with a lamb dish and it was perfect. It still tastes youthful so it could certainly age for more years, but it is delicious now. (33 views)

Great QPR for a wine with classic syrah character. Dark fruits, crowberry, some red berries there as well, a whiff of smoke. Certainly on the lighter side for a Rhone syrah. 12% abv is nice. (140 views)

This limpid, medium golden Viognier flaunts intense aromas of blood oranges, white peaches, Crenshaw melon, jasmine, honey and allspice. Medium-bodied, dry, medium in acidity, minimally oaked and with well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14%), it delivers flavors in line with the aromas, unleashing a mouthfeel of significant viscosity on the mid-palate and lengthy finish. Serially tasted over three hours from a bottle that was popped and poured, this does not require extended aeration. Enjoy it while the fruit remains bright. Enclosed with a Diam 10 cork.
